Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage probate matters from initial consultation through case resolution.

  • Conduct client consultations and provide legal guidance regarding probate and estate matters.

  • Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, petitions, court filings, and legal correspondence.

  • Attend and represent clients at probate hearings and other court appearances.

  • Maintain responsibility for case files and ensure timely progression of matters.

  • Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda as needed.

  • Assist with estate administration, guardianship, conservatorship, and related probate proceedings.

  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management.

  • Maintain compliance with court deadlines and filing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

  • Active license to practice law in Georgia, or recent Georgia Bar admittee.

  • 0-4 years of legal experience.

  • Probate experience preferred.

  • Family law or litigation experience is highly desirable.

  • Ability to independently manage files and prioritize competing deadlines.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and client-service skills.

  • Experience attending hearings or a desire to develop courtroom experience.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent drafting and analytical abilities.
